Gretchen’s freak accident left her nearly naked

Controversial star Gretchen Barretto found herself nearly naked when a freak accident involving her gown occurred during her recent taping with her leading man Derek Ramsay for “Magkaribal.”

“We were on a motorbike, a big bike. And she was looking beautiful at that time. Nagba-bike with her long gown. We’re just trying this effect na we’re gonna fly by the camera with her dress,” Derek narrated on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” June 2.

“Akala ko may humila. Yun pala, ‘yung tire inipit ‘yung gown. Tapos sumigaw ako. Afterwards, nahubaran ako,” the actress said.

Derek shared, “And then it held her back, it folded her dress down.”

Derek did the right decision to hit the break. And he was chivalrous enough to cover the nearly naked Gretchen.

“Ako naman, I felt to let go. I hit the breaks and she felt forward. And she just said, ‘Don’t move.’ Alam ko na. When I hit the breaks naman, she fell forward so I was able to cover her.”

How bare was Gretchen then?

“Talagang down, wala akong sticker bra, wala akong niplets. Buti na lang nakatalikod itong si Derek. Pero sabi niya, may mirror daw siya sa harap. Pero hindi siya tumingin.”

With Derek’s life-saving action, Gretchen considers Angelica Panganiban’s boyfriend, “My hero!”

“Oo naman, kung hindi dahil kay Derek, wala na ako ngayon.”

But more than the accident, Gretchen was reportedly worried about her gown, which reportedly costs around P80,000.

“Hindi ko sasabihin kung magkano. Actually, hindi ko pa nababayaran. Siyempre, sad ako na nasira ‘yung gown ko.”

But Derek countered it was still okay for the actress.

“She was smiling. Even before that kasi parang nalalaspag na ‘yung gown. Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Kawawa naman ‘yung gown mo.’ She’s like, ‘Okay lang na may mangyari sa gown — ‘wag lang sa shoes!’”

“Siyempre, nagbibiro ako no’n,” Gretchen said.

This Saturday, Derek and Angelica plus some friends will leave for South Africa for a month’s vacation.

Feigning hurt, Gretchen exclaimed, “Ouch!”

“Masa-sad ako. Wala nang kuwento. Hinintayin ko ‘yung mga kuwento niya. Pictures na lang. Hihintayin ko mga pictures niya. Pictures, ha, solo, walang iba.”
